2. What Cookies Does This Site Use?

We have deliberately designed this site to minimise data collection. Here is a full account of what we do and do not use:

3. Vercel Analytics Our Approach to Visitor Metrics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. We chose this tool specifically because it is privacy-preserving:

• No cookies are placed on your device
• No personal data is collected or stored
• No cross-site tracking
• Data is aggregated and anonymised at source
• Metrics collected: page views, visitor counts, country-level location, referrer, browser type, device type
• Country-level location is derived from Vercel's server infrastructure your IP address is not stored

Because Vercel Analytics sets no cookies and collects no personal data, it does not trigger cookie consent obligations under the GDPR, the Kenya DPA, POPIA, the NDPA, or equivalent African data protection frameworks. No opt-in or opt-out mechanism is required.

4. Third-Party Services and Their Cookies

When you navigate from this site to a third-party service, that service's own cookie policy applies:

• Data Protection Digest Africa (dataprotectiondigest.africa) operated on Beehiiv. See Beehiiv's privacy policy.
• Course platform when available, the course platform's own cookie policy will apply. We will update this policy when the course launches.

5. Your Rights and Controls

Since this site places no cookies, there is nothing to consent to or opt out of on lawlab.africa itself. However, you retain full control over cookies through your browser settings:

• Block all cookies: You can configure your browser to refuse cookies from all sites
• Delete existing cookies: You can delete cookies stored by other sites at any time through browser settings
• Opt out of analytics: Since Vercel Analytics uses no cookies and no personal data, there is no cookie-based opt-out. If you use a browser that sends a "Do Not Track" signal, Vercel Analytics respects this.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we add any services in the future that use cookies, we will update this policy immediately and implement an appropriate consent mechanism. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
